My Secret Formula
Show up every day. Be committed to achieving your goal. Your goal doesn't have to be complex. Mine was simple; I wanted to reach 10 000 New Zealand Business Women online. I expected those who wanted to join my FB group should at least complete the questions to show their commitment. I wanted a quality group first rather than quantity, so I knew it wouldn't be easy and it would take me a little longer to achieve my 10 000 goal.
Build people up, and you will have a loyal following. Become someone who lifts others up but also learn to understand what you need in the moment; otherwise, you will burn out and soon realise you are not getting the rewards you seek in return.
Know you will get some things right and a lot of things wrong. Your post isn't going to be liked by everyone all the time. Getting some post wrong has been the biggest and best lesson of this journey. There isn't a right or wrong way to post; each one is there to teach you to speak up and have your voice heard.
Don't give up even when it gets hard and it hurts so much. I've lost count of how many times I wanted to close the group when it got hard. Each time I gave myself some time to reflect and then learn from the challenges that I was faced with, and each time, I was able to grow my emotional muscle and develop a healthier approach to those challenges.
Learn from your wins, but mostly learn from your failures more. We can easily focus on failures because we don't like how failure feels. Learn to feel ok with failure and then focus on your wins. Wins are just as important to acknowledge to yourself, and when someone else notices them, it's even more fulfilling. Learn to listen when people tell you; you are doing well more than when they tell you, you are not.
