The Girls Talk Business Facebook Group is a growing community. We take pride in accepting women in this group who genuinely want to be part of this supportive online community. Women who will be inspired to connect, share your tips, ask questions, offer answers, give advice, network, and most importantly, support one another as we each travel on our business journey.

I have to admit personally, I have never been a big fan of rules. However, as our Facebook Group grows, I recognise the importance of having some solid group guidelines. Mainly so the group remains safe, supportive and a fun place for everyone. We haven't had many issues, and the ones we did have, have all been part of our learning process. And as our Facebook group continue to grow, we hope it continues to provide business opportunities for everyone.  I am very passionate about this group and spend a lot of my time personally acknowledging as many of you as possible. That's why I hope you will take some time to read these rules so everyone benefits.

Admin's in the group:

Ines Curin - Admin (Founder of Girls Talk Business & Creator of this group).
Loves thought-provoking conversation, currently spending time pursuing her dream and taking action to turn it into a reality.

How do I get more from this group?

Girls Talk Business offers businesswomen an opportunity to join our paid membership, where you can get so much more. To find out how you can become a member of Girls Talk Business, go to www.girlstalkbusiness.com

For all Facebook Members, these rules apply to you:

By accepting to be part of our GTB Facebook Group community, you agree to the rules listed below. Our expectations from Facebook Group members are to consider whether your post will benefit most of the group members or at least more than one person. If it is only relevant to you, then don't share it. If you're sharing personal experience and would like support that can benefit others, this is acceptable.

1. Before posting, ask yourself this one question...

Does my post benefit more people than just myself?'
If it is only relevant to you, please don't post it, as we will not approve it.

If your answer is yes, then please feel free to post it.
We love when you share a personal experience, and we encourage you to ask for support, this is how we all benefit and learn from each other.

2. Be nice, respectful, and give value

This is a safe, fun & friendly space for women. We thrive on providing and receiving help and offering support. Be respectful & provide helpful feedback. Ask questions, give answers & share your experience. Give more than you take.

3. Free Facebook Members - NO self-promotion or spam - EVER

No self-promotion is allowed, except for our #adfriday and #welcome thread, or otherwise explicitly stated. Support one another by checking each other in the #adfriday thread and say hello in the #welcome thread.

4. Definition of self-promotion for post & comments:

If you feel just a little confused about what qualifies as self-promotion, then this will help you understand our explanation of what self-promotions mean:

  • Selling anything – that means products, services, courses, events, programs.

  • Promoting your webinar or event, even if they are offered for free

  • Posting a link to your OWN website, Facebook Group or Instagram

  • Posting affiliate links…ever!

  • Posting your own content in the group and not in a specific (and relevant) thread

  • Posting links to surveys or creating surveys in the group

  • Posting photos with your social handles, URLs or business name on them AND posting "free" offers

  • Contacting girls in the group by private message to sell or promote anything. Please notify us if you notice this kind of behaviour by reporting it to info@girlstalkbusiness.com immediately (ideally with a screenshot of the message)

5. When can I promote myself?

You will be happy to hear that we do allow you to promote yourself in our #AdFriday Tread, #Welcome Thread. You can include in our #AdFriday, #Welcome thread a link to your website, FB page, webinar, survey, offer and social profiles.

6. So who can break the rules?

As this is our group, and we have spent a lot of our free time nurturing this community, we reserve that right to break our own rules and promote something if we feel it is of service to the group.

7. Job postings

We allow you to share any jobs that you (or your direct clients) are hiring for. And please let people know exactly how they should get in touch.

8. What is considered spam?

  • Sharing links, images or any content without writing a caption in the post. We'll have to delete those types of posts.

  • Posting full blog post content, or a post that is a length of a blog post, even without a link. If we have to scroll, scroll, scroll to read your post, please put that on your blog, not in the group.

  • Any posts that are just a sugar-coated promotional posts. We've seen them a million times.

9. Use the search bar (PLEASE!)

You might not realise that we do get the same questions over and over. Please save yourself time, and our moderators work by searching the group first.

Also, consider if a quick Google search would give you the answer you're looking for too. Repeat questions will be deleted.

10. NO affiliate links

We don't allow sharing of any affiliate links unless you get permission from an admin. Posts or comments with affiliate links will be removed, and we reserve the right to remove the member sharing them too.

11. Please do not private message admins

Remember, this is a FREE group and we’re all volunteers. We simply don’t have the time to respond to everyone. For questions or suggestions email info@girlstalkbusiness.com and we will try to get back to you with a reply as soon as we can.

12. No hate speech or bullying

This is a safe space for everyone here. Bullying of any kind isn't allowed, and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender or identity will not be tolerated. No victim-blaming EVER.

13. We trust facts and science

This group believes in science and facts, not speculation or misleading information. There's a lot of woo woo misinformation on the internet, and we don't want to contribute to that.

14. Stick to the topic

Posts that are totally unrelated or way too specific should not be posted here. There are dedicated groups for that.

15. No surveys or survey style posts

Please don't share your surveys or survey style posts (aka I'm curious what your biggest struggle as a XYZ is). We get too many of these and they're not useful to the majority of the group.

16. No MLM's

Please do not post anything to do with multi-level marketing or try to get people to sign up for your MLM's. We will remove the posts (and you!)

17. How to get the most out of this group

  • Don't come in with a motive.

  • Instead, show up with the intention to connect, and support others, not to sell.

  • When creating a post, make it fun, original and helpful.

  • Please don't write a post with a thinly veiled sales pitch, they won't be attractive to anyone.

  • Use the search function. Facebook groups have a search function in the left sidebar. Before posting a question, search the group if anyone has asked this in the past.

  • Don't share the same content across ten different Facebook groups. Many people belong to those same groups and see your same posts repeated, which says more about you and your business than you realise.

  • If you show up to just post your content and not help out your fellow community members, we notice. This group is large enough that members will notice this as well and it won't reflect well on you.

  • Share your thoughts and experiences because they are valuable to others.

  • If you're unsure whether you should share a post or not, think about whether it would be helpful to others, too.

To summarise what this group is about:

Girls Talk Business NZ Is Your Online Business Network Community. Supporting & inspiring each other as we travel through our personal and business journey, so we don't feel like we are doing this alone.
